Progressive

We embraced the progressive music ideas and soundscapes for a couple of years. We also added pop & folk influences mixed with a pinch of celtic culture.

Story

Oh, you are interested in the story of Road 909 ? Go ahead. :-)

  • 2007-2008

    The Beginning

In 2007, a first band was formed by Matthieu (lead guitar), Thomas (drums), Jérémie (rythm guitar) and Mickaël (bass). The band only played classic rock covers at first, influenced by The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many more.

  • 2009-2011

    "Going On"

During this period of time, the band is playing more and more original material. The sound is still raw and the music is simple and direct. It's rock & roll, isn't it ? The first original full-lenght album, titled "Going On", is released on January the 1st, 2011. The Youtube and MySpace accounts are created. After a consequent time of research, the band name "Road 909" is picked and is used for the first time.

  • December 2011

    The first turn

Jérémie and Mickaël left the band during summer 2011. Matthieu and Thomas continued to play as Road 909. They performed at the Marcelin Berthelot highschool amphiteater in front of a really enthusiast crowd. Auguste F. joined them to perform the last song, "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd.

  • 2012-2013

    "Brouillard Médiatique"

Matthieu has been working on a new set of compositions with french-only composed lyrics. It is almost like a concept album about introspection for the modern mind, a criticism of the consumerist culture, etc.

  • 2014

    The Trio

In winter 2014, Anaïs G. (bass) joined us to form a trio ! With her, we completed the last tracks of "Brouillard Médiatique", which permitted to release it that year. We also performed at Le Hangar (Ivry-sur-Seine) on February, the 21st.
